Abstract

Bukit Pengilon is a natural tourism destination in Gunungkidul Regency that of ers distinctive landscape beauty and various tourism activities. However, promotional media that present comprehensive and visually engaging information about the destination remain limited. This design project aims to create “Teman Traveling”, a visual book that serves as a promotional medium for Bukit Pengilon. The project employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-exploratory approach through field observation, documentation, and literature review. The collected data were analyzed to identify the area's visual potential, tourism activities, and unique characteristics, which were then translated into a visual communication concept. The final design is a printed visual book that combines photography, illustration, typography, layout, and visual storytelling to deliver information in an informative and engaging manner. The visual book presents destination exploration, attractions, culinary recommendations, and tourism activities available in Bukit Pengilon. The design result demonstrates that a visual book can function as an alternative promotional medium capable of communicating destination identity and enhancing tourists' interest in visiting Bukit Pengilon
