Abstract

Indonesia are rich in of Hindu-Buddhist cultural heritage, one of them is Candi Arimbi, a historical relic from Majapahit Kingdom era located in Pulosari village, Bareng, Jombang Regency, East Java. Despite having meaningful history and cultural value, Candi Arimbi remains relatively unknown to the wider public, particularly the younger generation. This study aims to design an illustrated book titled "Yuk Mengenal Candi Arimbi" as a medium to introduce Candi Arimbi as a historical tourism object in Jombang. This design research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques, the design process consists of three stages: data collection, concept development, and production. The result of this design is a 20-page illustrated book sized 20cm x 20cm, with cartoon illustration style using earth tone colour palette. The illustrated book presents information about the history, location, architecture, relief, motifs and unique facts about the place in a visual and engaging format suitable for children aged 9-12 years. It is expected that this illustrated book could help as an ef ective medium to preserve and introduce Candi Arimbi as part of Indonesia's cultural heritage.
