Abstract

Indonesia boasts a rich tradition of traditional cuisine that forms part of regional cultural identity, including Kotagede’s signature dishes such as Kipo, Yangko, Legomoro, and Jadah Manten. However, the rise of globalization and modern food trends has led to a declining interest in traditional cuisine among younger generations.This project aims to create a visual book as a medium for information and documentation of Kotagede’s traditional cuisine. The methods used include observation, interviews, and literature review to gather data on traditional foods and their cultural value.The visual book is designed by applying principles of visual communication design through layout, photography, illustration, typography, and color to make the information more engaging and easy to understand. This project is expected to serve as an educational tool while supporting the preservation of Kotagede’s traditional cuisine.
