Abstract

The design of this visual book aims to create a visual medium in the form of a book that narratively and visually presents the history and identity of the football club PSIM Yogyakarta. PSIM is one of the pioneering football clubs in Indonesia, with deep historical roots and a large supporter base. Due to the lack of engaging and informative visual documentation, the club’s historical narrative is not yet widely known, especially among the younger generation. The method used in this design project is a Research Through Design approach, involving literature studies, visual observation, interviews with key sources (archivists and PSIM supporters), as well as a survey distributed through Google Forms to explore the preferences of the target audience. The collected data is then analyzed and processed into the foundation for the visual book design concept. The result of this project is a B5-sized visual book with a dynamic design that highlights PSIM's character through the use of blue tones, supporter documentation, and archive processing. This book serves not only as a medium for conveying information and preserving the club’s history but also as an educational and expressive visual medium that connects the collective memory across generations of PSIM Yogyakarta supporters.
