Abstract

Pantai Indah Kemangi is a tourist destination located in Kendal Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. Despite its growing popularity and variety of attractions, digital promotion for this destination remains limited and unstructured. Based on interviews, the main issues identified include a lack of focus and consistency due to too many parties involved, reliance on reposted content from visitors, and limited reach due to unpredictable social media algorithms. These issues highlighted the necessity of a new medium to expand audience reach. This research developed an informative and interactive website for Pantai Indah Kemangi as a comprehensive digital promotion tool. The research process began with data collection (interviews, observations, questionnaires) and a SWOT analysis to understand the site's internal and external conditions. This was followed by the design process, utilizing Jesse James Garrett's “The Five Planes” method, and testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS). This research resulted in a responsive Pantai Indah Kemangi website, designed with Figma and developed using Framer (a no-code platform). The website includes features such as a photo gallery, price and facility information, event news, and a location map, all organized based on user needs and expectations. The Pantai Indah Kemangi website achieved a high level of usability, falling into the “Acceptable” to “Best Imaginable” category. Based on the results of usability testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS), the website is well-structured, significantly enhancing user access to tourism information and serving as an effective promotional tool.
