Abstract

This design project aims to create an infographic visual book that explores the world of fixed-gear bicycles (fixies) as part of an urban lifestyle characterized by simplicity, freedom, and self-expression. The fixie bike is unique due to its single fixed gear and absence of a freewheel mechanism, making it a symbol of minimalism and technical riding skill. This study employs a qualitative method with data collected through interviews, direct observation of fixie communities, and visual documentation. The book presents comprehensive information on the history, components, basic riding techniques, and culture surrounding fixie bikes through visually engaging and communicative infographics. Audience segmentation—geographic, demographic, psychographic, and behavioral—is carefully considered to ensure the book effectively educates and inspires urban readers aged 15 to 30. Ultimately, this visual book seeks to introduce and foster interest in a healthy, aesthetic, and environmentally friendly cycling culture. Keywords: Fixie Bike, Illustration Book, Infographics
