Abstract

The Sukendar Asikin Scientific Conservation Area (KKI) in Karangsambung, Kebumen, holds rich geological potential, yet lacks engaging educational media for children. This study aims to design and evaluate an interactive educational medium in the form of a pop-up book, targeted at students aged 10–15 years, to introduce various types of rocks found in the area. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires completed by 11 elementary and junior high school teachers. The findings show that the pop-up book is considered effective as a visual and interactive learning tool, with an average rating of 3.62 out of 4. The three-dimensional visuals, simple narration, and interactive mechanisms such as pull-tabs and lift-the-flap are deemed capable of capturing students' attention and improving their understanding of geological material. This educational media has the potential to be further developed as a contextual, creative, and engaging thematic learning tool. Keywords: Pop Up Book 1, Geodiversity 2, Interactive Media 3
