Abstract

Since wayang kulit has started to wane among the general public, it is an Indonesian culture that we must protect. Since the goal of modernizing a culture is to conserve it, action must be taken to preserve it in order for the general public to accept it more and encourage participation in its upkeep. This is the case with shadow puppets. The act of modernization is the right thing that will preserve a culture. With a system that is always being refined to make it accessible to the general public, shadow puppetry is a cultural legacy that has been around for a very long time.
