Abstract

Bogor City is well known for its diverse culinary heritage that appeals to both domestic and international tourists. However, traditional promotional media often fail to attract younger audiences aged 10-18. This design project aims to introduce Bogor's local cuisine to teenagers using a motion comic medium, which combines illustration with simple animation and narration, offering a more engaging and accessible experience through digital platforms. The project follows three main stages: pre-production, production, and post-production. Pre-production involved research, scriptwriting, character design, and visual planning. The production phase included creating visual assets, selecting music and sound effects, and voice recording using both studio and Al-generated methods. Post-production consisted of compositing visual and audio elements and publishing the final result on YouTube. The motion comic titled "Jejak Rasa di Kota Hujan" features a narrative-driven journey through five iconic dishes doclang, asinan Bogor, laksa Bogor, soto mie, and lapis talas explored by the main character, Desta. The visual style was influenced by Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and the animation techniques were adapted from simplified animation principles. The result is a dynamic, culturally rich educational medium that effectively introduces local culinary heritage to teenagers while aligning with their digital consumption habits.
