Abstract

This paper presents the design of a locomotive spare parts catalog guidebook for field identification by PT IMECO and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). Accurate and rapid spare part identification is essential for efficient locomotive maintenance operations. This research details the development of a user-centric catalog guidebook, considering the specific needs of field technicians. The design process involved analyzing locomotive fleets, maintenance workflows, and on-site identification challenges. The resulting catalog emphasizes clear nomenclature, visual aids, comprehensive indexing, and a logical structure to facilitate quick and precise part identification in field environments. This guidebook aims to minimize identification errors, and ultimately enhance the effectiveness of locomotive maintenance activities for PT KAI.
