Abstract
This journal discusses the creation of merchandise for the band Deviant Rogue through a structured design process based on data collection, including interviews with band members and documentation of past visual materials. The target audience consists of youth aged 17–30, especially fans in Yogyakarta with an interest in hardcore music and dark-themed visual styles. The merchandise design emphasizes a Semi Dark Surrealism approach, combining dramatic illustrations, deep color tones (such as black and navy blue), and decorative typography. Products include T-shirts, guitar picks, keychains, and pins, all featuring symbolic visuals inspired by social criticism, spirituality, and digital themes from the band’s album Plastic Era. Visual references were drawn from bands like Slipknot to strengthen the branding concept. Design development was done digitally using Procreate, while promotion was executed via Instagram to effectively reach the intended audience. Overall, the project aims to build a strong visual identity for Deviant Rogue while offering aesthetically and commercially valuable merchandise.
